Achievements and new initiatives taken by Indian Aviation Academy for the year 2012-13 for inclusion in the Annual Report

Regional Training Centre in Northern Region was inaugurated by Member (HR) on 17-04-2012. Two days training programme on 17th to 18th April, 2012 was conducted for the staff members of AAI Northern Region.

Regional Training Centre in Southern Region was inaugurated by Member(HR) on 11-05-2012.

Achievements and new initiatives taken by Indian Aviation Academy for the year 2011-12
  1. 1. MoU was signed between AAI & ICAO for conducting training programmes under ICAO - India Fellowship Programme for Developing Countries. Two training programmes under ICAO - India Fellowship Progarmme for developing countries have been completed on "Airport Terminal Management" and "Airport Cargo Management" from 4 - 8 July, 2011 and 1 - 5 August, 2011 respectively under MOU signed between AAI & ICAO. Six fellowships in each of above training programme were offered to participants from developing countries Nigeria, Philippines, Tajikistan.

  2. 2. During the year 2011-12, the Indian Aviation Academy had conducted 67 training progarmmes wherein 2210 personnel were trained. It includes 5 progammes of Dangerous Goods Regulations (Basic) & (Refresher) benefitting 69 participants and an amount of Rs.9.8 Lakhs approx. was collected as a course fee. Similarly training progarmmes were conducted by Indian Aviation Academy on ICAO - STP course on Bird Hazard Control Management Part-1 & II, Airside Operations Management & Induction Course for Airport Directors / Airport Controllers and an amount of Rs.1,44,097/- was collected as course fee.

  3. 3. Indian Aviation Academy hosted International Seminar on "Collaborative Decision Making AAI Workshop" on 29th June, 2011 which was addressed by International faculty, the airlines and airport operators representative attended the conference.

  4. 4. Airport Director's Conference was held from 16 - 17 June, 2011 at India International Centre, New Delhi which was inaugurated by Sh. Vayalar Ravi honourable Minister of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. Around 50 Airport Directors participated in the said conference.

  5. 5. Under Prime Minister's Assistance to African Union, it has been agreed in principle to train 100 African Aviation personnel at Indian Aviation Academy and CATC Allahabad

  6. 6. Government of India decided to establish Indo - Africa Aviation Academy at Africa. Indian Aviation Academy has been given this project to establish Indo-Africa Aviation Academy in one of the African States for training Aviation personnel of Africa in various Aviation fields. This Academy will be run by Indian Aviation Academy for three years and provide all assistance for administration and faculty for the same.

  7. 7. Indian Aviation Academy has achieved the targets for the year 2011-12 as per MoU signed between AAI and Ministry of Civil Aviation by training more than 2000 personnel by the end of December, 2011.

  8. 8. 1st paid course of DGCA "Flying Instructors Refresher Course" held from 3rd to 4th November, 2011 @Rs.3500/- per candidate was successfully implemented and a total amount of Rs.1,30,700/- was collected.

  9. 9. Under MoU signed between Airports Authority of Indian and Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. 10 weeks training programmes Orientation in Airport Management was conducted by Indian Aviation Academy for group of 20 Aviation Personnel from 29-09-2011 to 02-12-2011.

         ACHIEVEMENTS FOR TRAINING
    •        a. 2371 AAI employees were trained in the year 2011-12 against the MoU against the target of 2000.
    •        b. 2707 AAI employees have been trained by February, 2012
    •        c. 620 officials of DGCA / BCAS and other organizations were trained at IAA.
    •        d. 56 Foreign participants have been trained in the year 2011-12
    •        e. An amount of Rs.1.75 Crores was collected as revenue for IAA.

  10. 10. Training Programme on "Airside Operations Management" from 18 to 22 April 2011.
    • i) The above training programme received overwhelming response so much so that as against expected nomination of about 20-25 participants, 41 participants attended the programme.

    • ii) As many as 14 participants(10 participants from M/s DIAL & 04 participants from M/s BIAL) were from other than AAI.

    • iii)An amount of Rs.2,87,000/- as course fee has been billed (inclusive of all taxes) to participants other than AAI.

    • iv) The lectures taken by the undersigned were rated 94.63 %.


  11. 11. Conduct of ICAO STP on "Bird Hazard Control Management" Part - I from 9th to 13th May 2011
    • a. The above said course was attended by 09 executive of M/s.DIAL had participated and a revenue of Rs.1,38,977/- (Rupees One lac thirty eight thousand nine hundred seventy-seven only) was received towards the Course Fee

    • b. The lectures taken by the undersigned were rated 94.29 %.


  12. 12. Training Programme on "ASQ Rating plan" from 23rd & 24th May 2011 was conducted for the first time at Indian Aviation Academy (IAA) New Delhi which was attended by 15 Airport Directors besides 05 participants from M/s DIAL.

  13. 13. ICAO-India fellowship Training Programme for developing Countries on "Airport Cargo Management" was conducted at India Aviation Academy, New Delhi from 1st to 5th August 2011.
    • a. The programme was delivered by Shri Dinesh Kumar, ICAO Regional Expert who is also the Director of Indian Aviation Academy, New Delhi.

    • b. Total 16 participants, including 03 participants from developing Countries (Philippines, Tajikistan& Nigeria), 06 paid participants from private airport operators and 07 participants from Airports Authority of India had attended the above programme.

    • c. An Amount of Rs. 1,65,000/- was collected as course fee from the private participants.


  14. 14. Conduct of ICAO STP on "Bird Hazard Control Management Part -II" from 24th to 26th August, 2011 at Indian Aviation Academy. The lectures taken by the undersigned were rated 100 %.

  15. 15. "Induction Course on Airside Operations Management for JET's/Senior Supdt/ Supervisor" from 5th to 9th September 2011at IAA, New Delhi. Total 15 participants including 02 from M/s JSPL had attended the programme. . The lectures taken by the undersigned were rated 97.33 %.

  16. 16. Indian Aviation Academy organized first "ICAO Aviation Security Instructors Course" from 21-29 February 2012 as ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre which was inaugurated by Hon'ble Secretary Civil Aviation.
